Paul has over 25 years of industry experience, primarily in Fixed Income emerging markets sales. He was most recently Head of Emerging Markets Credit Sales at Standard Chartered. Before that he spent six years as a Director at Credit Suisse in Emerging Market Sales, and five years at JPMorgan Chase in both Credit Sales and Emerging Market Sales. Paul began his career as an Economist, first at the Bank of England and then at BNP Paribas.
Ian joined Exotix team in June 2006 after a long career in Emerging Markets Sales and Trading within the WestLB group. He was one of the original group of seven that left Libra Bank Ltd to form Standard Chartered Merchant Bank EM debt trading in the mid ‘80’s, which evolved into West Merchant Bank. Ian has led efforts in EM loan and bond trading, EM new issues sales, private placement sales, and most recently, structured credit derivative sales, with clients in the Americas.
Stuart joined Exotix in July 2006 as Chief Economist and now heads a team of analysts. Stuart’s country coverage includes Sub Saharan Africa, in which he is considered one of the leading City economists on the region; Latin America and the Caribbean and South East Asia. He is also an acknowledged expert in emerging market sovereign debt restructuring and on Cuban and North Korean debt. Stuart is widely quoted in the media for his country views as well as those on more general frontier and emerging market financial issues including in the Financial Times, Bloomberg and Reuters as well as appearances on CNBC and Bloomberg TV. Stuart has been working in emerging markets for over a decade. Before joining Exotix, he spent ten years in the UK Government Economic Service, first in HM Treasury (1996-2001), where he had responsibility for Latin America, and in particular Argentina over 2000-2001. Whilst at HMT, he also worked on the domestic UK economy, government debt management and public private partnerships (PPPs). Stuart then spent five years as an Economic Adviser in the Export Credits Guarantee Department (ECGD), the UK’s official Export Credit Agency, where he covered Latin America and East Africa. Stuart joined HMT in 1996 from Goldman Sachs (London). Stuart holds an MSc in Economics from Southampton University.
