Hasnain Malik is Head of Frontier Markets Equity Strategy and South Asia Research, based in Dubai, at Exotix. Prior to this he founded Frontier Alpha, a boutique research firm and was a Managing Director at Citi in Investment Research. He joined Citi in 1998. He has been based in Dubai since 2007. Previously he was in London covering European and Global sectors. He has been highly ranked by institutional investors since 1998, in sectors as diverse as utilities and technology in Europe, and was top ranked in MENA Equity Strategy in the 2012 ii survey. He was also the first analyst to publish equity research on a number of companies in the region from sectors such as conglomerates, consumer and real estate. He has served on the Board of the Middle East Investor Relations Society since 2008. He read PP&E at Oxford University as well as an M.Phil in Economics. He regularly presents at regional conferences and is quoted in the business media.
